About the role
Biomedite Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced Manager / Assistant Manager – Imports to join its team in Kalubowila, Dehiwala.
The selected candidate will oversee the complete import process from order placement through final delivery, while coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, stores, and internal departments to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
~ Oversee the complete import process from order placement to final delivery.
~ Analyze historical cost and consumption data to forecast future import requirements.
~ Coordinate with Stores to maintain optimum inventory levels and minimize shortages or excess stock.
~ Monitor short-expiry items and re-order levels and take timely action.
~ Prepare and analyze pre-costing for new import orders and monitor related costs.
~ Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents.
~ Monitor the GRN process and verify received quantities and product conditions against purchase orders and relevant documentation.
~ Ensure timely coordination between internal departments and external stakeholders.
Requirements
~ Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field.
~ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Imports / Supply Chain operations.
~ Fluent in written and spoken English.
~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
~ Strong coordination and analytical skills.
~ Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
~ Ability to manage import activities efficiently and meet operational deadlines.
