About the role

Taprobane Seafoods (Pvt) Ltd, a leading seafood export company with its Head Office in Dankotuwa and operations across several provinces, is looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Controller.

The selected candidate will take overall responsibility for financial management, reporting, internal controls, statutory compliance, budgeting, cash flow, and accounting operations while providing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
~ Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and consolidated group reports for local and overseas entities.
~ Lead the year-end audit and preparation of financial statements under SLFRS / IFRS.
~ Manage working capital, product costing, yield analysis, and inventory valuation covering raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
~ Monitor receivables, payables, and daily cash-flow forecasting.
~ Manage banking operations, trade finance facilities, lender reporting, and compliance certificates.
~ Ensure compliance with Income Tax, VAT, BOI, Customs, Exchange Control, and other regulatory requirements.
~ Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls.
~ Support budgeting, investor reporting, and board reporting.
~ Lead, coach, and develop the finance team across multiple locations.

Requirements

~ Fully qualified Accountant – ACA, ACMA / CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
~ Finance Degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
~ Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
~ At least 3 years of experience leading a finance operation.
~ Experience in food manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or agribusiness preferred.
~ Experience in an export-oriented business will be an advantage.
~ Strong knowledge of SLFRS / IFRS and group consolidation.
~ Strong knowledge of process costing and inventory accounting, particularly for perishable products.
~ Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
~ Experience with multi-currency and foreign-entity reporting will be an advantage.
~ Strong leadership, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-growing multi-site environment.
