About the role
b-connected is recruiting an experienced and compassionate Centre Psychologist on behalf of its client in Colombo.
The selected candidate will provide in-person individual and group therapy, conduct psychological assessments, develop intervention plans, support participants during crisis situations, and contribute to mental health programmes and staff development.
The role also involves working closely with house staff, social workers, educators, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic care and appropriate follow-up for participants.
Key Responsibilities
~ Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations.
~ Develop appropriate intervention and treatment plans.
~ Deliver individual therapy and trauma-informed group therapy.
~ Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing follow-up support.
~ Develop mental health programmes and capacity-building initiatives.
~ Train staff and stakeholders on trauma-informed care approaches.
~ Collaborate with house staff, social workers, and educators to provide multidisciplinary support.
~ Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare participant progress reports.
~ Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
Requirements
~ Master’s Degree in Psychology / Clinical Psychology with a 1-year placement, or a Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Psychology or Counselling with supervised clinical training.
~ Minimum 2 years of supervised counselling experience with youth or adolescents.
~ Experience working with trauma survivors will be preferred.
~ Fluency in both English and Sinhala, written and spoken.
~ Experience with trauma-informed approaches.
~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace / G Suite, and digital tools.
~ Female candidates are preferred due to the sensitive nature of the demographic.
