About the role
Genesis College of English is looking for a dedicated Cambridge ESOL Teacher to deliver high-quality ESOL programmes to a diverse range of learners, including school students, school leavers, adult learners, and vocational learners.
The position involves lesson planning and delivery, assessment and progress tracking, curriculum development, learner support, classroom management, workshops, Cambridge ESOL examination preparation, and collaboration with the wider academic team.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons according to learners’ abilities and needs; prepare lesson plans using suitable teaching methods and technology; assess learner progress and maintain accurate records; provide constructive feedback and individual support; contribute to ESOL curriculum and resource development; maintain an inclusive and motivating classroom environment; participate in training and professional development; work closely with colleagues and support staff; comply with institutional, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements; prepare students for Cambridge ESOL examinations; and plan and conduct ESOL workshops and short courses.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related discipline is preferred. A Master’s Degree such as an MA in TESOL will be an added advantage but is not mandatory. Candidates should ideally have at least 2 years of relevant teaching experience, particularly in colleges, training centres, adult-learning environments, or similar settings. Previous ESOL teaching experience is an added advantage.
Preferred Professional Qualifications
CELTA is the most preferred qualification. CertTESOL from Trinity College London or an equivalent Level 5 initial teaching qualification is also suitable. General TEFL / TESOL certificates of approximately 120 hours are accepted.
